           Chances are, we all know someone who is

    In 2000, there were over 957,200
    finalized divorces in the United
    States. The U.S. Census Bureau
    says that 50 percent of all
    marriages entered into today will
    end in divorce.  That's a lot of

            In South Carolina there are
    five grounds for divorce; Adultery,
    Desertion for a period of one
    year, Habitual drunkenness or
    Narcotic drug use, and living
    separate and apart from your
    spouse without cohabitation for
    one year. Each of the above
    grounds for divorce have specific
    legal remedies, outcomes and
    consequences that must be
    address on a case by case
    basis.
